Overview
Did you know that although you can only have one Facebook profile, you can have many Facebook “pages” linked to your personal profile? Here are the differences between a Facebook Profile and a Facebook Business Page:
 

Profile
A Facebook “Profile” is a personal page. You can have only one Facebook profile. Facebook Profiles do not show up in search engine results. Facebook Profiles have “Friends” You can send friend requests.

Page
A Facebook “Page” is a business page. You can have many Facebook Business Pages, linked to your personal profile.
Facebook Business Pages DO show up in search engine results. Facebook Business Pages have “Fans”. You cannot send Fan requests.

As Facebook now gets about the same amount of traffic as Google, and Facebook Business Pages DO rank in the search engines, it’s a great place to begin building your business brand.

What is the difference between the donut you ate from Dunkin’ Donuts and the one baked at a local bakery?  The difference is in the recipe used.  The donuts from Dunkin’s are lip smacking tasty and you don’t mind shelling out a little more money on such a tasty piece of donut.  Such is also the difference between a popular service provider and not-so popular service provider online.  There are certain standards every consumer looks for and doesn’t mind spending more when there is a promise to quality.  So, is there a perfect recipe for internet marketing?  It may not be possible to churn out an online marketing procedure that works well for all products and services, but surely there are essentials that can go into a well performing internet marketing recipe. Let us perceive the internet marketing campaign to be a Chinese recipe requiring noodles, vegetables, Soya sauce, garlic and some vinegar dipped onion topping. Here’s how we can relate the ingredients of the recipe to an internet marketing campaign.

Website optimization
This is like the base ingredient of every recipe, in this case the noodles.  While you may have all the other ingredients put
together, we are essentially making a noodle-dish which cannot be complete without noodles.  Similarly, you may have all our online marketing strategies in place, the website becomes the face of your business and that is exactly what needs to be marketed.  It represents your business and presents to the audience all that they want to know about your business.

Quality content
Quality content is the vegetable bit in the recipe.  You have noodles, but it is the combination of vegetables you have in it that makes the consumer choose it. When consumers visit your website, there are two ways of enticing them: An alluring design and a captivating content.  Content has the power to sell and make your business popular though consumer recommendations.

Social media marketing
This is the Soya sauce of your dish.  It connects all the ingredients in the dish and gives it the much needed flavor.  Social
networking is a way to interact with the consumers, get feedback, work on the suggestions made and give a human touch to your business.

Blogging
This is your garlic, another flavor-giving ingredient.  You can talk about things that interest you and relate to your business in an informal way and encourage consumer participation as well.

PPC
The topping that gives your dish an edge. While you are required to allot a budget for PPC, it is an additional way to make your presence for relevant keywords and you can localize your sales to a particular region, event or price range. This internet marketing practice is directed towards sales.  It is a conventional, yet powerful way of driving sales.

Traffic -  the lifeblood of any website.
Whichever way you look at it, an online business cannot survive unless it gets a decent amount of traffic every single day.
The burning question is: How do you get more website traffic?

Article marketing
Without a doubt article marketing is one of the very best ways to bring in relevant traffic to a website.  It’s a deceptively simple formula…

1.  Write articles and submit them to article directories.
2.  Continue to do this on a regular basis.
3.  The more articles you write the more traffic you will get.

Write Quality Articles
It sounds simple and it is…in theory.  There’s a little bit more to it though… Let’s face it…so many articles to be found in article directories are extremely vague and are obviously written by people who simply don’t know what they are talking about.  Most people will read the first paragraph and exit.  Articles like this are not worth reading because they bring little value to the reader.  To be a successful article marketer, you must write quality articles to position yourself as an expert in a particular field, which will help to get your name and website in front of as many people as possible.  Provided your articles are well-written, interesting and highly relevant to your niche website then readers should be interested enough to visit your website via the link in your resource box.

Do your quality check
After you have written your article read it back to yourself a number of times as if you were reading it through your readers eyes.  Did you find it interesting and informative? Did it flow nicely from sentence to sentence? If not rewrite it until it does. Be brutally honest because your real readers will be much tougher judges than yourself.  After you have written your article it should be submitted to the top article directories.

Be sure each directory you are submitting the articles to is considered an authority by Google.  Your ultimate goal is to have your article reach the front page in the Google rankings, with the covered top spot the main prize.  Not always possible but if you don’t aim high you will always fall short.

Quality Website
OK…now you’ve got the traffic now what?  Even if you are successful at using article marketing to drive more traffic to your website, if your visitors find your content is of little value, they will exit at the click of a mouse button, defeating the whole purpose of getting them there in the first place.  Your website visitors will want to see interesting and fresh content
which shows a good level of knowledge on your website. If they do they will come back again and again.  With a bit of luck you may get them to sign up for a subscription to your newsletter.  It’s an indisputable fact that building your subscriber list is one the most important activities an internet marketer can do.

By keeping to these simple guidelines, you will be able to drive more website traffic with every article you write.  Each one is building up your online presence.  It’s a fact that writing articles is time-consuming and can be tedious, so the difficult part is forcing yourself to take action.  The ones that do get down to work will reap the rewards for years to come.
