Google Blogs is nothing new, but there is a very simple way to use it that many people overlook and it can be a very powerful traffic source for any website.

If you follow this strategy every day for at least 30 days you could easily ramp up 400+ visitors per day to your site and it takes very little effort – just 30 minutes per day.

So, go switch off the television and commit to doing this for 30 minutes every day.

All you need to do is the following: 

1) Visit Google Blogs
2) Search for blogs in your market that have been updated in the last 12 hours.  Google Blogs will list all the blogs that have been updated in the last 12 hours with the keywords that you specify (sceenshot below).
3) Then all you need to do is visit those blogs and leave an “insightful” and useful comment. Don’t just post a comment like “Very good blog”. Make it useful and relevant to what is discussed.

Bonus
Due to the fact that these blogs have only just been updated, you are often the first to place a comment on them and if the blog has good traffic levels you are sure to get your comment noticed. However, you need to entice the click as well in your comment and this can be done by some kind of call to action, i.e, “read more on my blog at:” – I think you get the idea.

Bear in mind that a lot of people use this technique to spam blogs with links back to their site, don’t do this. Always leave the comment with your name. You will still build link juice into your site from the ones that don’t use “No-Follow” and this will help on the next pagerank update. Besides, a few links that are not your main keywords will actually benefit you in terms of rankings as there is a filter placed on Google’s Algorithm that will give you a -5 penalty if your incoming link text percentage is too high, but that’s a topic for another post.

Anyhow, follow these steps as above and just commit 30 minutes per day or 5 comments per day, whatever you can do. I’m sure you’ll be surprised with the results.

The very first steps of any online marketer’s/businesses careers should be to get an AUTORESPONDER service and a LANDING page.  We’ll cover the two subjects in more details below.

AUTORESPONDER
What?
An Autoresponder is an automatic mail machine, i.e. it sends out predefined mails, in the intervals you define, to a set of recipients.
Example:  You have a mailing list of 100 recipients.  You have 20 written mails you like to send your recipients, starting with mail 1 now, mail 2 in 2 days, mail 3 in 10 days, mail 4 in 11 days etc etc..

Why?
The reasons for having an autoresponder service are many, but we just list the most important ones;

- You build your OWN list of leads.  Many programs have autoressponders built in them, but if they close or for any reason  vanish, ALL your leads will vanish as well. You have probably heard the phrase “The money is in your list”, and that is absolutely true.  Just imagine to build a list of many thousands leads/buyers, just to lose them because a company shut down.  Don’t let that happen, set up your autoresponder service and protect your “gold”.

- You save a lot of time.  This is AUTOMATIC and as soon a lead/person subscribe to your list, the predefined mails are being sent out in the frequency you have defined.  Works like a clock.

- You can send new mails to your list whenever you want.  There are no restrictions and if you have valuable information to give your list, just write the mail and send it.

How much does it cost?
Well, there are different services out there, but we recommend Aweber.  The is by far the most reputable service out there, and it’s used by thousands of online marketers and businesses.  The cost is $19.00 a month (you can also subscibe to a more advanced service at Aweber, but this is more than good enough), and it’s worth every penny.  Include that in your cost budget.

LANDING PAGE
What?
Simply put, this is just a form on a website where a person leaves his/her contact details, i.e. name, email address and maybe telephone number.

Why?
All online businesses should have a place where people can leave their contact information in order to receive more information.  This is the easiest way to get people to ask for more information, and the percentage doing this instead of writing an email is MUCH higher.  The higher percentage you get, the more leads you get and finally the more sales you get.

How much does it cost?
This is free as you just have a form on your webpage, but if you find it difficult you can use some tools or websitebuilders that take you through this step by step.  There are different pricing of these tools, but please check under “Resources” for some recommendations.

CONNECT THE LANDING PAGE WITH THE AUTORESPONDER
This is done very easily, and by adding a code to your or your company’s webpage the connection is made.  The subject is thoroughly described at Aweber.  By connecting the two, the contact information a person leaves on your landing page is automatically added to your autoresponder mailing list.
