Why is it that all successful marketers say you need your own product to be a successful Internet marketer?  Because if you are looking for a 100k a month they are probably right.  How ever most of them making 100k a month did start out as an affiliate marketer, and did so well.  So if you are looking to even start a online adventure the best way is to start as an affiliate.  And why is that?  There are a number of advantages:

* You don’t need a large budget to get started.

* You don’t need your own website (how ever it’s an advantage to have one for opt-in, pre-sell reasons and Google don’t like you to send PPC traffic directly to affiliate links).

* You don’t have ANY customer support (and that can be a blessing).

* You don’t need a lot off experience.

But one of the things you need to do, is to pick the right product.  On ClickBank there are three criteria you need to fill.

* First you need to pick a niche you like.  It is likely that you will add some value to a niche you like and it will be a big advantage to you marketing, article writing, forum posting etc.

* They have something called Gravity and it tells you how many that are promoting that product.  My rule of thumb is that any product I promote have a Gravity above 100.  You might thing that if there are a lot of folks promoting the product you should stay away, but it’s the opposite.  Competition is you friend in this game.  It’s true that you can make some money on a product with a low Gravity, but unless the product is a coming star it tells you that the demand on this product is low and there are limitations to what you can make on it.  The only thing you need to do is to out market some of the others that promote.

* The commission should be above $30 because it makes it easier to make a good chunk of money.  If you can find a high end product it’s just a bonus, go for it.

So if you ever consider to start out as an affiliate marketer it would hopefully make it a lot easier if you start out with these three elements.  There are a lot of other things to take under consideration, but it wont matter unless you do the first steps right.  So choose a nice you like, let the product have a Gravity above 100 and a commission above $30.

I thought I should reflect over something tha can be “the next big thing” on the Internet.  I’m not talking about some lame new “get rich quick” opportunity but about something that could be a major player on the Internet for a lot of people in the (near?) future.  The site I refer to is leapfish.com.  I have done some research on that site, and they have some really cool features.  If you are the kind of person that likes to do your home work when you research a topic, you probably search at a few engines out there: Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing etc.  Then you also know that they all have different algorithms to index your search.  With other words, what’s on googel’s page one isn’t necessary on Yahoos page one and so forth.  So the first thing that I really like about leapfish.com is that they pull out just as fast as any other search engine the results for your search for google, yahoo and bing in one spot, and it’s easy to.  If that not all, they also have a more advance  search search option that not just pull up the sites related with the best pr, quality score etc, but they pull out the most resent stuff related to your search.

They are up to date on world news by Yahoo, Celebrity news from US, Sports news from Yahoo, Mashable for the social media news and action.  And last they have most popular videos related to your search,  you just take your mouse over the video and it start plying right away there and then.  Normally it will take you to you tube or where ever the video source are, and here you will find the most popular video related to your search.

How ever, the thing that really got my attention was the possibility to share everything in any category with the top ten social networks out there today.  When you take your mouse over any news article or what ever you will see a “share” button.  The ten sites are: twitter, Facebook, Digg, Mixx, StumbleUpon, Reddit Technorati, Delicious, Yahoo Buzz, and Kaboodie.  So what ever you search fro you can share it to all your friends, followers, leads etc, you do
the math.  It also looks like a great place for affiliate marketers/Internet marketers to have a look.
Alexa page rank for leapfish.

Conclusion:  This is a pretty good site, easy to navigate and a lot of good quality content.  But the reason why I started this post with this could be “the next big thing”  is because of what I found when I saw what the have accomplished in less than 18 months.  As you can see on the picture abowe this site is now ranked global around 10 00 for the 3 months, ranks around 7000 yesterday March 4 2010.  And the ranking is the US is around 2000.  As you can see from this stats, this site is moving very fast, and I will keep a close look at this site in the near future.

PS! They have grown about the same in less that 18 months than google did in 4 years?

Have you ever wondered why we call article writing article marketing?  Well imagine you are a newspaper journalist.  What’s your job?  To write about a specific topic like news, sports, finance etc.  But how do you get your pay check?  The news paper needs people to actually read your story, or else they will not sell any papers.  Or if it’s web based they need advertising that can promote to your readers.  So with other words: If you are a journalist you are marketing something one way or another or else you are out of business.

So what’s the big deal about article marketing?  What are the real benefits from the hours of hours of writing?  There are a few and I will share them with you, but I will like to share a story with you first.  I did a research the other day on one of the most respectful article directories out there and wondered how many articles the top writer had written?  Can you guess?  Over 22 000 “unique” articles.  WOW, it blew my mind and I couldn’t help wondering how the hell he was able to do so.  To be able to pull that off you need to writhe 6 articles a day (every day) for 10 years straight, or you are really ambitious and would like to do it in a year, 60 unique articles a day for 365 days.  Do you wonder how he pulled it off?  I still do, but some of the answer is that it was a lot easier to get an article accepted a few years back even if there was another similar out there, and this guy has probably been around for a while.  Another option is to outsource your writing, but as far I have been able to find out you have to pay anything from $5-$10 per unique article.  So if he payed $10 for them, he just burned up 200 grands.  I don’t think he did that either.  It’s probably a combination of these elements (and few more I don’t know about).

Well enough of this “wonder man”, and back to basic.  I know a lot of you don’t like to writhe articles every day, because you need good content or else it lose some of it’s juice.  Start with once a week, do some reading on some topics you like and write your side of the story.

The single most important is that for each article you write and post to the article directories is that you will get quality back links from the article directories.  This is valuable because in Google’s eye these directories authority, meaning a link from an authority site is gold.  And the more you get of these kind of links, the better your site will rank.  I know this is a time consuming job, but like all marketers we use the loopholes we can.  When I write an article like this, I use jetsubmitter to help me create 20 different articles and then I post them to my selected list of article directories: .  It’ also A little bit of work, but nothing to compare to write 20 unique articles.  There are also another important thing to remember:  There are a lot of people that are writing an article and submit the exact same article to a number of directories, but don’t do that because Google hates duplicate content.

PS! The guy with 22 000 articles can be found on ezinearticles

There are other ways to increase your page rank with intern link and with anchor text.

In the complicated world of SEO (search engine optimization) there are a lot of words that don’t make sense to people.  Have you ever wondered what exactly “anchor text” is, I sure have. I still meet marketers who have been around a while, but still don’t know what it exactly means, sure not what the benefit are.  Here are a simple explanation and how it can help your rankings with the search engines.  I like it simple.

Anchor text is the words on a page that is “hyperlinked” it’s the words on a site that are clickable.

If you read regularly on our blog you will find words like blogging, free traffic and Internet marketing a number of times, and you can almost always click on them, in which “blog”, “free traffic” and “internet marketing” is the anchor text like abowe

Anchor text should give your readers valuable information about the content of the page you’re linking to.  Here’s is the reason anchor text can be powerful:
*Search engines finds out what the page is about. If you use this the right way you can boost your ranking, especially in Google. Don’t use anchor texts like “click here” or “read this” because you are telling the search engines that the subject is “click here” or “read this. Use a key word phrase that is a relevant topic on the URL destination, and you will score points with the search engines.

You wouldn’t rank highly for “click here” or “read this” and it’s probably lot a lot of related search term to your site?  To illustrate the power of anchor text you can be on google’s first page for a key word phrase that isn’t mentioned anywhere else on the site.

There are some blogger that have some fun with this topic, and use anchor text for humorous phrases, they use what is called “google bombing” and they get highly ranked for these humorous phrases.  If it’s a low competitive keyword only a handful of anchor text will give you a first page position with google.  For highly competitive keyword you need hundreds and some time thousands of links.  Since January 2007 it’s harder to use “google bombing” but anchor text is still powerful.

If you have your link on other sites it is a good idea to provide the link in html format because you will then determine what’s in the anchor text.  However, you should not make your site look like one big link, so don’t overdo it but choose your anchor text and enjoy the ride up the page rank ladder.  Better ranking, more traffic and more bucks for you.

You can use anchor text in: external links (from other sites like article directories), internal links (from one internal page to another) and my favorite is to link back to your main domain from all sub-domains/pages.   It’s vice to keep in mind that there are real people that are reading your sites, so the anchor text needs to make sense to the reader.  Because when you have a nice flow of new readers every day, and old visitor’s are back all the time, your traffic will at some point reach the tipping point.
